Day 62, Venice

On our travels yesterday we came across a real beach, with a pier, deck chairs and food, and so we decided to revisit it today and have a relax, swimming and sunbaking. Before that, however we asked at reception about exploring the rest of the island, and the lady directed us to a bus which would take us to the end and back.  She also said that there is a beach at the end, which was a bonus.
After hopping on the bus we immediately recognised an English accent, and the girl was in fact originally from Welcome Bay, back in New Zealand, and she knew our video shop which we had back in the 90s - small world!
The bus trip was interesting and we got off at the beach recommended to us, but it was a disappointment - only a track to get there, no facililties and freezing water! We caught the next bus back and ended up at the Lido beach after all.  I had a swim and while the water was nice, there were no waves so not a lot to do. Al good though. It was nice to look at.
We finished off the day at the same bar, and had pasta and risotto for tea before heading back to the hotel.
