Day 59, Nice

We used the train ticket purchased online at Brossac to go to Monaco for the day.  I hadn't been since my study scholarship took me to France for five weeks in 1991, and it was exactly the same - opulence, decadence, whatever adjective you like, but beautiful as well.
We did the bus tour - there's no way you would walk around those cliffs in a day - and then went to an exhibition of Prince Rainier's classic cars, over one hundred of them. I'm not a car fancier, but I did enjoy the exhibition.
After that we thought we might as well stay on the train and go past Nice to Cannes, as we had only one night left before leaving for Italy tomorrow.  It was a good decision as things are really quite close around that area.  We walked around the outside of the Festival Hall where the red carpet rolls out during the film festival, and then took the little train all around the area, including up in the hills again, which you don't normally associate with Cannes.
We managed to get back by 6.30 to meet Richa for tea at the Bollywood/Hollywood Restaurant near our hotel.  She was staying at the youth hostel near the train station, so met us on the way.
The meal was yummy, and I discovered that not all Indian people like spicy food!
We walked Richa back to her hostel and said, as with Natalie, that we will catch up again somewhere.
