Louise worked from home so we could still catch up, and as we decided we would like to visit Versailles since it was close, Stephane gave us a lift there. I had visited Versailles many years ago, but only the gardens, as I was on a budget and didn't want to spend money on touring the palace. The next time, in 2011, Neil and I met my sister Helen outside the grounds. We were going to go in but it was so hot we decided to go to a pub instead. So this was third time lucky.
The palace indeed is amazing, and we had a good day. Outside was stifling so we didn't spend too much time there, and took a ride in a buggy thing before touring the inside. We caught the bus back from there.
Once again we had a long, late dinner prepared by Louise and went to bed at midnight. The next morning we were leaving to go down to Brossac, near Chalais, where we would be volunteering for two weeks.
