No more work - all done. Now just two days until we leave. And fittingly, it is raining.
I took advantage of the down time to book a hotel in Bangkok and a train from Nice to Monaco for one of the days we are there. We probably could just wing it, but it's good to have something organised occasionally.
Paul meanwhile went off to pick up a new volunteer, Charlie from Scotland. I'm happy it happened at the end rather than the beginning of our time there! He was big and loud with a very broad accent. I think he even tested Paul, who is one of the most patient people I have met. By the time he arrived he had already left his bumbag at St Pancras station, and being pretty much IT ignorant, needed me to email them to sort it out. He later could not remember his phone number when I was trying to organise Paul to pick him up from Chalais station.
With safety in numbers, Paul took us all out to a Routier truck stop in Barbezieux for tea. What amazing places they are, with trucks from all over Europe there, and very cheap three course meals and alcohol on tap. They have good amenities and accommodation, especially when the truckers can't drive between 10pm Saturday and 10pm Sunday, unless carrying perishables and refrigerated goods. I picked up a copy of Charlie Hebdo from the shop there.
