Today was our first day of work - the actual catalyst for this whole trip. Neil plastered an old brick fireplace, making it all blend in where it had been damaged. Natalie would later paint the plaster to make it look like the original bricks. I donned my gardening gear and pruned roses, something I never imagined doing. I don't even like roses, but I did enjoy being outside. Watering was another job which took up a fair bit of time as Paul did not believe in hoses wasting water, so it was watering cans all the way.
After lunch Neil and I rode the pushbikes into Brossac - a couple of kms away. It was a good ride or walk, as it was pretty flat. We shopped at the Spar then called it a day.
Every evening a different person or couple cooked, which was interesting. We didn't have a clue what we would do but thank goodness it wasn't tonight.
