Day 20, London

First up this morning we booked the train from Paris to Chalais as the fares were cheaper than usual.  This was in preparation for our two weeks' sojourn at La Giraudiere, Brossac, where we would be volunteering.
Next on the agenda was a visit to Abbey Road Studios at St Johns Wood.  This also had been on the bucket list for some time, so today was the day.
After getting off the bus we walked past Lords Cricket Ground but couldn't go in as there was a function on, and we were seeing the Beatles instead.
The actual studios are still in use, but after doing the pedestrian crossing thing (albeit the wrong way) we went to the gift shop and immersed ourselves in memorabilia. We bought a couple of things for Chelsea and Christian, and a USB for myself.
Lunchtime saw us walking around the area until we found a cute little bar called Mwah Mwah, which stands for Music Wine Art House restaurant.  Very clever, and yummy food and wine.
As the day was still young we then decided to go to the London Eye Quay with the intention of going on a boat ride, which we did, down to Greenwich. There we saw the Cutty Sark and lots of interesting buildings on the way.
At the end of the day we got two trains and a bus back to Camden, and once again retired exhausted but happy.  The apartment, despite its price, did not have a television, which some people would think was a good thing.  However it would have been nice to have been given the choice, even if just to keep up with the news.  Later in the trip we started watching Breaking Bad on my ipad, which certainly filled that gap!
