From the Hauptbahnhof we went to Westkreuz and from there took the S-Bahn to Messe Nord, as rehearsed yesterday. We walked from there to the bus station and had two hours to spare! So we walked around the area a bit - not much to see - before finally grabbing a front seat again on the bus all the way to Brussels.
The Flixbus is really cheap and not nasty. We had snacks and internet most of the way, and the only frustrating part was being held up in Holland by border police checking passports. One guy was taken off the bus but then allowed back on again.
We finally made it an hour late to the bus station in Brussels, and sis Helen met us as planned. She discovered earlier on that was in fact a red light district of sorts, but it did not deter her. In true Kennedy fashion she had another beer and waited.
We finally got to bed around 1am after talking non-stop at Helen's place. This was only the second time Helen and I have had a face-to-face conversation since discovering five years before that we were in fact half sisters.
