Day 49, Bordeaux

We decided that since we were so close we would be crazy not to visit Bordeaux whilst in the area.  Even though we had paid accommodation for two weeks at Brossac it was not a lot to stay at an Airbnb in Bordeaux for two nights, and we got nearly three full days out of it.
Paul dropped us at Chalais train station and we caught the train to Coutras, then another one to Bordeaux - only about an hour.
The accommodation was quirky, as it had been in London and Paris.  Old buildings but lots of character.  This apartment had a loft bed which tested our old knees out. It was good to hear some English news on tv.
Bordeaux has a really comprehensive tram system, so we rode the trams as far as we could for a couple of hours and then went to the Oxford Arms for fish and chips. (Paul was not impressed for our penchant for seeking out English food!) The proprietress was a Scottish lady and good to chat to.
Before going to sleep we watched another couple of episodes of Breaking Bad.
