Day 18, London

We also planned yesterday a trip for Neil to go to a car place in Thatcham for work, so we caught the bus into Paddington for him to pick up the ticket.  Paddington station and the surrounding area is a little Middle East, which I guess it has been forever but we had no idea.  More burquas.  Not my favourite look, but each to their own I guess.
The next bucket list item for me to tick off was a visit to Carnaby Street. For those old enough to remember, it was the 60's iconic street for fashion, and ever since I was a teeny bopper I have wanted to see it.  Gone are the days of Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton, mods and winkle pickers, and now instead there are Doc Martins, Monki and Vans.  The theme is still there though, and we even came across a group of Hare Krishnas doing their thing.
We had lunch at Pret-a Manger, which is one of a few popular eating places around now - not so much Starbucks, which apparently didn't pay its taxes so was snubbed by England in particular, but more of Coffee Republic, Costa, Caffe Nero and Pret-a-Manger.  The latter had really yummy food.
Still on the food theme, we decided to stay in town to see Thriller and not go back to Camden in between, so we went early to the Hard Rock Cafe, around 5 o'clock, which was lucky because it filled up really quickly and by the time we got our meal there was a queue winding past our table and up the street. We had our usual barbecue ribs and salmon steak.
We chose to see Thriller as it seemed like the most interesting musical at the time, and it was pretty good, although it got off to a slow start.  There was a version of Guys and Dolls featuring Rebel Wilson on as well, and I wish we could have seen that too, but time (and money) didn't really allow it.
Finally made it back to Camden at 11, exhausted but happy.
